Online Medical Forms Available Now
Check your e-mail! There is a very important e-mail with a personalized link to the Jamboree's website. The subject line of the e-mail is "Jamboree online medical form announcement" in case you need to search your spam filter.
- Click the link in the e-mail, or copy it to your browser (Firefox is not completely compatible with the website).
- Login with your credentials that you used to apply to attend the Jamboree, or your MyScouting.org credentials if you have linked your scout to yourself.
- Read the Get Ready! Be Prepared! page with your participant, and agree to Be Prepared! by checking the box at the bottom.
- Click Next.
- Click Dashboard. (As long as you are here, you may want to update you scout's picture or rank)
At the very top of the Jamboree dashboard, you should have a button for "Medical Form Entry." Click this button to be taken to the Online Medical Form system. Follow the instructions carefully.
You will need to complete the form online, then print Part C for your physician to sign (get two copies signed so you can keep an original signature in your files). Once Part C is signed, make a copy and send both to the BSA national office at the address indicated.
The deadline to have the forms to the national office is April 15, 2013. Please get this done no later than spring break to beat the rush of the rest of the nation.

Scoutmaster Welcomes 2013 Jamboree Troop
Dear Jamboree Troop Scout,
On behalf of the Council Contingent and the leadership of our Jamboree Troop,
welcome aboard! At the 2013 National Scout Jamboree, you will have the
opportunity to enjoy one of Scouting’s largest and most exciting
experiences. This event will focus on the best of what Scouting has to offer
to you. To ensure that you have a great experience, you will participate as an
individual, as a member of a patrol, and in our Jamboree Troop. We will be
working together to be the best National Jamboree Troop in our Council
Contingent.
The Council Jamboree Committee and your Troop Leadership have been
working hard for the past several months to get things ready for you. It is
finally time to meet each other and prepare for our 2013 Jamboree experience.
Between now and the day we get on the airplane to go on our tour and the Summit
Bechtel Reserve, we have a lot to accomplish as a troop. We will identify troop
leadership, form patrols, work through the patrol method, and participate in
training activities in preparation for all the activities that the Jamboree
Trip will provide.
The schedule for the next eight months is busy. Please take the time now
to write all the dates on your calendar, as attendance at all of these
events is required of all participants to ensure that we have
the best prepared Jamboree troop possible.
See the 2013 National Jamboree Troop Training Schedule for future
Jamboree training meetings and events (mark your calendar). Our first Scout/Parent
Jamboree Training Meeting is as follows:
Date: December 2, 2012
Time: 3:30 – 5:00
pm
Location: TBA (check blog site
and email)
Attire: Scouts in Field Uniform
(class A)
Who Should Attend: All Scouts and at
least one parent/guardian
I am looking forward to meeting all of you on December 2, 2012, and
also to a great National Jamboree experience with you at the
Summit . If you have any questions, please email
me at jamboreescoutmaster@gmail.com.
Also, check-out our troop blog at Northstarjambo.blogspot.com (become a follower and receive updates).
Yours in Scouting,
David Ragsdale

North Star District Jamboree 2013 Troop News
Welcome to the news blog for the Boy Scout National Jamboree Troop from North Star District of Circle 10 Council. This will be the place to check for important information and news about the contingent troop formation, training, and tour.
Informational Meeting
When: Thursday, March 1, 2012
Where: First Christian Church, 1835 Walnut St., Carrollton, TX 75006
WHO: All Boy Scouts/Venture Crew (and their parents) interested in information about attending the 2013 National Scout Jamboree (see www.bsajamboree.org).
SUBJECT: The 2013 National Boy Scout Jamboree
is over a year away, but this is not an event you simply sign up for a
few months ahead. Each Boy Scout Council across the nation is already
organizing contingent troops that will depart for New York City and
Washington D.C. before they arrive at The Summit in West Virginia for 10
days of FUN and HIGH ADVENTURE. The
2013 Jamboree will feature whitewater rafting, zip-lining, rappelling,
mountain biking, hiking, and more - with 50,000 of your closest friends
at the brand new Summit Bechtel Reserve in the wilds of West Virginia
that a Scout will remember for a lifetime.
The
North Star District is forming a contingent troop made up of 36 Scouts
and 4 Adult leaders for the purpose of attending the Jamboree. Scouts
are beginning to sign-up and more are signing up daily.
